So, I've been at Cox Radio for an entire week, and I have to say...I love my job. Although I haven't done any remote locations yet, the office stuff is great. During the morning I mostly work on promotions and I like it, but in the morning I've noticed that I don't talk much at least until lunch. After lunch I get to work with Joe and Billy on the commercials. I love working with the commercials and the Adobe Audition. Once my PC comes in, they are going to put on an older version of the program so I can get a little more familiar with it. I should have messed with it during the school year! Dammit...
I didn't think I'd love it that much there, but I do. The environment reminds me of a private school. It's small and everyone tries to communicate (including the sales department...sometimes) and they get along great. They all joke around with each other but work still gets done. I'm hoping I'll let how to make commercials as quick as Joe does by the end of the year, I'm usually a quick study with electronics. I got dubbing pretty quickly.
I want to be able to show them that I am a valued member so when I graduate they may want to hire me full time, doing more production stuff.
The other intern I think is Ben. I haven't met him yet, but there is another name on my schedule and on Angie's computer it said Intern Schedule. So I believe that's right. So far I haven't heard great things, but I'm praying that once he's actually started, he will begin to get better. I'll keep praying. I don't want anything to slow down Cox Radio.
:)
