Coke's Recipe

It's finally been discovered!  Yahoo has an article about how in 1979 there was an article that was published that showed the 1880 recipe for coke that they had every so diligently hidden.  Well, now here it is in 1979:

The recipe:
Fluid extract of Coca: 3 drams USP
Citric acid: 3 oz
Caffeine: 1 oz
Sugar: 30 (unclear quantity)
Water: 2.5 gal
Lime juice: 2 pints, 1 quart
Vanilla: 1 oz
Caramel: 1.5 oz or more for color
The secret 7X flavor (use 2 oz of flavor to 5 gals syrup):
Alcohol: 8 oz
Orange oil: 20 drops
Lemon oil: 30 drops
Nutmeg oil: 10 drops
Coriander: 5 drops
Neroli: 10 drops
Cinnamon: 10 drops

So, anybody going to try and make their own coke yet?  Probably not with this entire recipe.  In the 1890's they had to take out.  There used to be Coca leaves laced with cocaine in the coke as well.  Since 1904, coke has not used those cocoa leaves and the alcohol was taken out.  Leaving the delicious soda most of us have had to this date!

 Yum!
